I'm New Here

First Sunday?

Anytime a person attends a church for the first time it comes with fears of the unexpected. Consider yourself normal if you feel this way.

What time does it start?

Sunday school starts at 9:15 am, morning fellowship at 10:00 am, and worship at 10:30 am.

What do I wear?

In terms of ‘dress’, CPC is a “come as you are” church. Some men wear blue jeans; others wear dress shirts; a few wear ties. Some ladies wear pants; a few wear dresses. In the summer, shorts are preferred by some. Just wear what is most comfortable for you!

What are the people like?

At CPC there are children and adults of all ages. There are couples; singles; middle-age; upper-age. You will not feel “out of place."

What is the music like?

A blend of contemporary and traditional. CPC worship offers a wonderful variety – guitar, piano, vocal ensembles, choirs, and yes, for those who grew up like me, we also incorporate traditional hymns! We worship the One True God, encouraging your participation.

What is the preaching like?

I preach from one book – the Bible. The sermons are roughly 20 minutes long. I have two goals in preaching. One, theological truth – what does God’s Word say? Two, relevant application – what does it mean for our lives? Want an example? Click /sermons to listen.

Are visitors singled out?

No. We verbally welcome all of our guests. We want you to feel welcome at CPC, but we don’t want you to feel embarrassed or singled out. You can expect some folks to come up and introduce themselves and welcome you to worship.

Where do my kids go during the service?

A nursery for infants and young children is available. During the service there is a Children’s Message and of course, parents are welcome to keep their kids with them. We believe intergenerational ministry is the way to go.

Can I talk with the pastor?

Yes, of course! Please speak to me anytime. You may ask any question(s) you like. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday Morning!
