A Model of Repentance
Oct 25, 2026 • Joshua Fried
Judah and Tamar may be one of those passages that many Christians wonder, "why is this in here?" Yet it is one of the most powerful presentations of grace, repentance, and transformation in the Bible. Tamar was a vulnerable, foreign woman seeking justice for herself, and Judah was a self-righteous, callous son of Israel (Jacob), who had abandoned God to live life among the Canaanites. Yet through Tamar, God's grace shines, and the result is a transformed Judah who leads the family of Israel into Egypt.
