Laugh a Little
“I commend joy, for man has nothing better under the sun but to eat and drink and be joyful, for this will go with him in his toil through the days of his life that God has given him under the sun.” -Ecclesiastes 8:15

 Thomas Sewell, the famous economist, once said: “If you’re serious all the time, you’re going to burn out before you get the serious stuff done.” Thomas Sewell was a wise man. Likewise Solomon, the wisest man in history, said that there is nothing better for a man to do than eat and drink and be joyful.

All of us want to accomplish great things in life. We strive to do well for our families and for the Lord. We work hard – as we should. But as we work, let’s not forget to laugh a little. Let’s remember to be joyful. Let’s not be so serious all the time that we burn out before we get any serious work done.

I encourage you to set aside some time today to thank the Lord for all he’s blessed you with. He has given us so much to be joyful about: our families, our church, our nation, and most of all – his Son Jesus.

Work hard – but laugh a little too.
