Get to Know Chris and Cheryl Brown
We are so happy to welcome Chris and Cheryl Brown to Christ Presbyterian Church! They recently joined the CPC family and are already a delight to the congregation in so many ways.
This past fall CPC welcomed Dr. William C. (Chris) Brown as Director of Music Ministries.
Chris grew up in Perry, Florida. He is a University of Mississippi graduate with a degree in music. He received his Master of Music degree from there as well and his Ph.D. in Music Education (Cognate: Choral Conducting) from The University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.
Cheryl is a native Floridian, born in Gainesville and grew up in Perry, Florida. The Browns have been in this area for five years and live in Robertsdale. Chris first took a position with the Baldwin County Board of Education (Foley High School) as a Music Education Specialist, Keyboard Instructor and ACT Preparation. Chris is presently on the faculty of Spanish Fort High School in the Fine Arts Department.
The Browns have been married for 26 years and combined they have five children and five grandchildren!
While Chris has been very busy in the music world, Cheryl has been dedicated to working with children and also those with special needs. She has worked as a Special Education Teacher Assistant and she has also worked in Preschools, Daycares and a church children’s ministry.
In addition to a love and heart for special needs and children, Cheryl enjoys baking, canning, reading, fishing and camping.
Chris has had wonderful music and teaching experiences: The University of Mississippi, The University of Florida, Judson College, Coastal Alabama Community College and more! In addition he has had Music Director and Worship Leader positions in various churches.
He has many talents from keyboard to choral directing to singing and composing (and so much more.) We are blessed that he was led to Christ Presbyterian Church and we look forward to all that is in store for CPC as he seeks to grow and expand the music ministry.
What a heartfelt couple who bring much to our church family. Please take the time to pray for and get to know The Browns. They welcome your support as they learn their way around CPC and Chris works to build up the music ministry. Both of them bring wonderful gifts to this church family-- so we indeed sing of the GOODNESS of GOD!
