“Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” – Acts 20:35
Christ Presbyterian has been blessed with a strong and passionate group of volunteers who serve in many areas of the church’s life. From the kitchen crew, to Sunday schoolteachers, to those working in the nursery, there are volunteers everywhere.
One group of volunteers I’m particularly thankful for are our nursery workers. Week in and week out, they volunteer their time to watch over our young children so that we may participate in worship, Bible study, and Sunday school with our full attention. They make great sacrifices to do this –including their ability to partake in these events themselves. They truly understand the teaching of the Lord Jesus in Acts 20:35, that “it is more blessed to give than to receive.”
If you see someone working in the nursery on Sunday or Wednesday, tell them how much you appreciate their time, effort, and sacrifice? Perhaps the best way you could thank them is to lend them a hand. All of our church members deserve a chance to participate in Bible study and in worship. No one ought to be serving in the nursery every week. As the old saying goes, many hands make light work!
If you are willing to serve in this crucially important area of church life at CPC, please email the church office at christchurchdaphne@gmail.com. Thank you in advance for your willingness to serve!
