Volunteer Spotlight – Kitchen Crew
“Behold, what I have seen to be good and fitting is to eat and drink and find enjoyment in all the toil with which one toils under the sun.”-Ecclesiastes 5:18
Hospitality is one of the defining characteristics of Christ Presbyterian. Every time I meet someone who has been to CPC, they bring up the warm welcome they received and the good food that they ate. In fact, one of our favorite guest preachers, Kyle Palmer, was shocked the first time he came to CPC and we didn’t eat!
So much of that warm hospitality is made possible by the tireless work of our kitchen crew. From getting snacks and coffee ready on Sunday Morning,to cooking enough food to feed an army on Wednesday Night, the kitchen crew is always hard at work. A great deal of what they do is behind the scenes and not in the spotlight. Yet without them, the ministry and fellowship of CPC would be greatly impoverished.
Ecclesiastes repeatedly teaches that spending time together over a good meal is one of the great blessings God has given us in this life. Next time you see someone hard at work in the kitchen at church, would you thank them for all they do to bring this great blessing to us?
