Get to Know DJ Whitney
Meet DJ Whitney, an international flight attendant for some thirty years who has moved forty four times and lived in fourteen cities! Favorite place? Papeete, Tahiti!
For the past year and a half, DJ has been enjoying her new life in Baldwin County though she is far from her hometown roots. She is actually a Mid Westerner, having grown up on a farm in Trenton, Missouri.
She went to Jr. College in Trenton and also to Eastern Michigan focusing on merchandizing and interior design. While she took a thirty year circuitous route around the world to get back to that focus, she eventually landed in Palm Beach working in the design field, specifically with True Treasures Consigned Furniture and Home Décor.
When she moved to this area to be near her daughter and family, she landed in the design and interior field once again. She is enjoying her multi-faceted work with Simply Shelly (an estate liquidator, among other things in Fairhope). DJ enjoys all aspects of decorating, organizing and selling.
Even when not working, her interests tend toward the same creative bent: painting interiors and decorating (at present she loves the design of all things Colorado). She does also enjoy kayaking and eating. Our kind of person!
DJ has two grown children, Heather and Wes as well as two grown grandchildren in this area and two younger grandchildren in Denver, Colorado.
While looking online for a church community, DJ came across Christ Presbyterian where she heard Pastor John reading from scripture. She was thrilled! She decided to visit and now she is all in on CPC and John Foster’s pastoral leadership.
We are thankful that her many trips around the globe have landed her in this faith community. The ties that bind us in Christian love are a gift in which we rejoice! Please reach out to DJ and bless her in your prayers.
