GET TO KNOW GAIL AND RICHARD BEALL
If you talk with these two Texans, you will notice the twinkle in their eyes not to mention the joy of the Lord. Meet Richard and Gail Beall!
Awhile back, they were thinking about finding a smaller Presbyterian congregation, and by God’s providence, they were led to CPC. They had been in a larger Presbyterian church having lived in the Eastern Shore area for the past thirteen years.
Richard attended Texas A & M (Go Aggies!) and worked in the chemical industry for thirty nine years and also was retired from a long career in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. Gail attended a Port Arthur Business College and was secretary in a bank until the children arrived on the scene. She then took up becoming full time mom and homemaker.
They both have enjoyed Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) which is an in depth commitment to biblical studies. As a matter of fact, Gail has been involved with BSF for some 20 years. Both Richard and Gail enjoy reading and gardening and Gail also enjoys sewing.
They are so faithful in participating and serving in so many of CPC church activities and missions. You’ll find them both in the CPC kitchen – Gail helps the Wednesday night dinner crew and Richard is famous for his sausage gravy (a highly guarded recipe) for the “Men’s Tommy B” breakfast gatherings.
A life changing ministry/mission for Richard has been Kairos Prison Ministry which takes the Gospel to incarcerated men over a long weekend retreat held in prisons. Richard has found it to be a most rewarding ministry which has deeply impacted his life and walk with Christ. FYI: on the big cross wall at CPC, look for the wooden cross with men’s names written all over it; it is from the Angola Prison where Richard helped to lead one of the Kairos retreats.
Gail and Richard dream for continued growth of CPC- particularly young families to come up our hill & through the doors--- and of course they would love to see more Bible studies!
If you know anything about The Beall Family, you know that they are deeply committed to their three children and ten (yes 10!) grandchildren. They never miss one of the grand’s birthdays; they love attending their varied activities and having them visit during summer vacations. Church has been a priority in marriage and also while raising their family.
We are blessed to share this Christian journey with Richard and Gail – “the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love.” Lift them up in prayer, let them know of your love --and see if Richard will share that famous sausage gravy recipe!
