GET TO KNOW THE MYERS FAMILY
You may or may not know this, but The Myers Family wanted to know you, so they took the project on to make that happen! With support from The CPC Session, John and Christy gathered pertinent information and photos of each family; they put it all together and now we have a new digital CPC directory – the first in a long time! Thank you Myers Family for that labor of love!
We recently celebrated Dorothy graduating from high school and getting ready to go off to college, so this article of Get to Know You will focus on John and Christy.
They both were born in Mobile. John spent early school years in New Orleans – which explains his love of all things Saints – and then the family ended up in the Daphne and Spanish Fort area. Christy didn’t move across the Mobile Bay until she married John!
This is a big family with lots of folks to love: John has a son, Jacob (23) and also daughter Dorothy (18) getting ready to head off to college. Christy has son Alex (31) and his wife Della; they have two sons: Bentley (4) and Hudson (3). Christy also has a son named Seth (26) and his wife Chelsea and they have three sons: Jordon (7) and the twins Cooper and Caleb (3); Christy also has two daughters, Abby (23) and Miah (21). Yes, lots of family to love!
Prior to becoming members of CPC, they were members at Stockton Presbyterian Church. John and Christy enjoy the sense of fellowship between CPC members and they love the welcoming atmosphere. Early on they particularly noticed the sense of openness to be able to ask questions without fear of judgment during Bible study. They also like the way scripture is preached and taught!
John has worked for Collins Aerospace (aka Goodrich, UTC and ROHR) for over 18 years; he is a mechanic inspector. Christy is working on her Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and has been employed at Columbia Southern University for almost four years now as an Admissions Advisor.
John and Christy both enjoy camping, kayaking and traveling and most especially being New Orleans Saints fans (Who DAT!!). Several years ago they took an incredible trip to Scotland and England and would love to go back. Christy enjoys reading, movies – not to mention kids and grandkids! They enjoy getting together with family wherever and whenever that may be. We don’t know why John’s amazing dance moves weren’t mentioned- but please take note!
CPC is deeply blessed to share in the fellowship of The Myers Family. What a joy they have brought to the family. Lift them up in prayer and give thanks for the tie that binds us in Christ.
