3 Reasons to Volunteer for VBS
“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children.”
-Deuteronomy 6:6-7
Vacation Bible School is quickly approaching! It will be held at the church on June 19-23 from 5:30-7:30 PM. Whether it’s serving in arts and crafts or helping in recreation or preparing food with the kitchen crew, we need your help to make VBS a success. Here are three reasons to volunteer for VBS:
1)VBS is important to the church: VBS offers a wonderful opportunity to work together for the growth and expansion of God’s kingdom. As we serve together, we get to know each other better and we see God’s gifts at work in one another as those gifts are put to work in service of the kingdom. As we grow closer together, the health of the church is increased.
2)VBS is important to the community: VBS is a wonderful opportunity for us to reach out and serve our community. Yes it’s an opportunity for parents to get a night out and for kids to have fun. But more importantly – it’s an opportunity for us to share the gospel with those in our community who have never heard it before.
3)VBS is important to God: VBS is the perfect opportunity for us to obey the commandment given in Deuteronomy 6 – to teach the things of God diligently to the children God has put in our path.
If you haven’t already done so, would you call the church office or contact Randi Riley and ask where you can serve at VBS this year?
Your Pastor and Friend,
