Giving Tuesday – A New Way to Give
“On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.” -1 Corinthians 16:2
Giving Tuesday is celebrated on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving as a way to visibly demonstrate our thankfulness by giving back to charities, non-profits, and churches. This giving Tuesday at Christ Presbyterian, we’re asking you to consider changing the way you give.
In 1 Corinthians 16, Paul instructs the church at Corinth to “put something aside on the first day of every week.” In other words, the giving of the church is to be a part of their regular weekly worship. Just as they pray, sing, and hear the Word of God read and preached every week – so they are to give every week.
In our modern day, giving every week can be a challenge for various practical reasons. Sometimes we’re trying to wrangle the kids in worship when the offering plate comes around – and by the time we get home, our mind has moved on to other things. I’ve been there. Sometimes we’re traveling and forget to put a check in the mail. I’ve been there too. Any number of things can come up that cause us to neglect this important aspect of our weekly worship.
Thankfully, our modern day also provides us with an easy solution to these problems. At Christ Presbyterian, we offer online giving that can be set up to draft automatically “on the first day of every week” – on Sunday – so that we can follow the Lord’s instructions and enable the church to continue her work.
Would you consider changing the way you give to the work of the kingdom at CPC to online giving? It will only take a few minutes and can be done by clicking on this link:

We appreciate your generosity and all you do so that the gospel can go out here in Daphne.
