Mission Update: Maji Hope

Mission Update: Maji Hope
“If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
–James 2:14-17

James is a book of practical wisdom for Christian living. The verses cited above are no exception. James lays out a simple fact – if we see someone in need and don’t move to meet that need, our Christian platitudes don’t do them any good.

Maji Hope is a local Christian non-profit dedicated to serving those in need in this practical and hands-on way. Years ago, the founders learned that 4,000 children die every day from lack of clean water. They saw a practical need, and they have since moved to meet that need by building wells in Africa that provide clean drinking water to those in need.

As the wells are built, Maji Hope shares the good news about Jesus. They explain that just as they must come to the well to get clean water to survive here on earth – they must also come to Jesus, who alone can lead them to springs of living water welling up into eternal life.

CPC is grateful to support the work of Maji Hope by being one of their financial partners. If you would like to support Maji Hope in this important work, you can donate directly via their website, visit their store in Silverhill, or give to the General Fund at CPC.

Your Pastor and Friend,
